Malaysia eVisa Application Requirements
To apply for a Malaysia Electronic Visa (eVisa), eligible applicants must meet specific document and eligibility requirements set by the Malaysian Immigration Department. The Malaysia eVisa is available for Tourist, Business, and Social Visit purposes, and all applications are submitted entirely online — no embassy or consulate visit is required.

Documents Required to Apply for Malaysia eVisa
Scan and upload the following documents clearly when completing your online Malaysia eVisa application form:
Minimum 6 months validity from the intended date of entry. At least 2 blank pages required for immigration stamps.
Clear, high-resolution scan of the passport bio-data page. All details must be fully visible and legible.
Recent digital photo — white background, full face visible, no glasses, no hat. Must be taken within the last 6 months.
Proof of onward or return travel from Malaysia. Booking confirmation showing your name, flight number, and dates.
Hotel booking confirmation or letter from a host (friend/relative) including their full address and contact details in Malaysia.
Recent bank statement (last 3 months) showing sufficient funds to cover your entire stay in Malaysia.
Required for applicants under 18 years of age. Must be an official document with the child's full name and date of birth.
For Business eVisa: invitation letter from a Malaysian company. For Social eVisa: invitation or proof of relationship from a host in Malaysia.
Documents Required at Malaysia Entry Checkpoint
You must present the following documents to the immigration officer upon arrival in Malaysia:
- Valid Original Passport — same passport used in the eVisa application, with at least 6 months validity
- Approved Malaysia eVisa — printed (A4, colour or black & white) or shown digitally on your phone/laptop
- Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) — completed online before arrival; mandatory for all travellers
- Confirmed Return Flight Ticket — showing your departure from Malaysia
- Proof of Accommodation — hotel booking or host address in Malaysia
- Sufficient Funds — cash, debit, or credit card to cover all expenses during your stay
Passport Requirements
- Valid for at least 6 months from entry date
- Minimum 2 blank pages for stamps
- Must not be damaged or tampered
- Machine-readable passport required
- Same passport used for application must be presented at entry
- Passport must belong to an eligible nationality
Photo Requirements
- Recent photograph — taken within 6 months
- White background — plain, no patterns
- Full face visible — no sunglasses, no hat
- Neutral expression, eyes open and clearly visible
- Digital format (JPEG/PNG), minimum 400×400 pixels
- Studio-quality, properly lit — no shadows on face

Malaysia eVisa Eligibility — Who Can Apply?
Not all nationalities are eligible for Malaysia eVisa. Currently, 35 countries are approved for online eVisa applications. Citizens from the following countries are eligible:

Malaysia eVisa Processing Time & Validity
Standard Malaysia eVisa processing takes 3 business days (Mon–Fri, excluding public holidays)
The eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Enter Malaysia before it expires.
Single entry with a maximum stay of 30 days per visit. No extensions permitted.
